Transport Planning
Our transport team will provide input at an early stage on a project – with active travel at the forefront. Safe routes to school, accessibility for all users, and a clear answer on deliverability.
Transportation input is so much more than vehicular traffic movement.
Our transport team will provide input at an early stage on a project – with active travel at the forefront. Safe routes to school, accessibility for all users, and a clear answer on deliverability.
We engage with roads and transport teams at Local Authority and National level (Transport Scotland) and work with the team to develop solutions for access.
In tandem with the initial high-level appraisals, we will then drill into the detail, providing transport statements/assessments at the appropriate stages to support the client team.
Our Transportation team can provide input at all stages of a project, from initial master planning right through to construction and beyond. The team has a wealth of experience across both the private and public sectors. We are just as comfortable undertaking a Transport Statement for a small residential development as undertaking complex traffic modeling for large multi-use developments.
Too often, at the early stages of a project, the transportation engineering aspects are treated in isolation without consideration of the implications for long-term delivery. Our Transportation team works in tandem with other parts of the business to ensure that the client’s needs are met and, crucially, projects can be delivered.
We also pride ourselves on the good working relationships we have with Roads Authorities at both local and national level.
Transport is a major contributor to carbon emissions, and so encouraging the switch to sustainable travel modes is at the heart of the drive to net zero. This shift in reliance on the private car is increasingly reflected in the work we undertake, such as safer routes to school measures and multi modal transport assessments.
