Project Description
Jack Martin House provides social housing for the elderly and was constructed as part of the overall Springside development. The building provides 20 self-contained flats with a shared sun room and incorporates a communal heating system. The overall development consists of 6 residential blocks of up to 6 storeys containing 240 flats, has an underground car park with 227 spaces and a podium slab with a bridge section.

Construction Overview
The frame is reinforced concrete construction with post tensioned floor slabs and precast columns. Stability is achieved from the concrete elements that form the lift shafts and shear walls. Foundations are bored cast in-situ piles with reinforced concrete pilecaps and ground beams. The roof structures are formed in braced steelwork. The surface water drainage ties into the site wide SUDS systems which is located in the underground car park.
